Bayern Blast 7

Wow – what a difference a weekend makes. Maybe all that alarmism was uncalled for. Well, I don’t want to blow to much sunshine up anyone’s behind here – but I do like some of the changes Heynkes made to the Bayern squad. Drifting Kroos to the back was a welcome change. This is what I have been looking for. I think he was still as effective as he’s ever been in the front – and giving Muller more of a central role took some much needed heat off of Ribery and Robben to run rick shot on the Basel defense. Playing Alaba on the back right was a bold and interesting move. Frankly, one that I would not have thought of. I think he played the position admirably and contributed meaningfully on the field. Great call. About my only complaint is still Gustavo. What is that guy even doing on the field – while Tymo sits on the bench. Makes no sense to me…but with such success…we’ll let that one slide for now. Fingers crossed this new, confident Bayern team is here to stay!
