Bayern Drop Points and Completely Out of Title Race

I don’t like the idea of resting players. Frankly, I don’t see the logic with the light schedule in the Bundesliga anyways. Maybe you can justify it in the EPL with some hectic scheduling…but even that is pushing it. This is your job…seriously…athlete or not…its all you do. I don’t think this is a player thing either. This is a coaching thing. For me this is yet another reason why the need to toss Heynckes out with the wash this Summer.
Backtracking for a second…before today – who said Bayern was out of the race. Six points would be tough – but with a tougher Dortmund schedule – anything can happen. Meanwhile the big mouthed Bayern boobs in the front office were going around shooting their mouths off about how all was last…with the crowning comment coming from Heynckes himself before the Mainz game – congratulating Dortmund and saying they deserved the title. All this before the events of the day!
So Bayern fields a decent team…which frankly still should have handily defeated Mainz…but yet again Bayern finds a way to drop points and ties the game. Dortmund win it – and now all is 100% lost on the season from a Bundesliga title perspective.
It’s tough to say that Dortmund didn’t deserve it. Perhaps there is a learning lesson in there for Bayern. A bunch of middle wage Poles smoked the high paid line up of Bayern. For me – Dortmund proves that a good coach and strong player chemistry can win a title. Bayern proves that overpaid players will put in less, be more temperamental and require the most aggressive coach to extract a maximum performance.
Bottom line – congrats to BvB. I had a DAB in the honor.
